Südzucker UK has today announced that it is now open for business to meet the sugar supply needs of the UK and Irish markets, and will formally commence trading from 1st October 2015 in line with the 2015-16 sugar campaign year.
The newly formed company, established in May 2015, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Südzucker AG, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of sugar and sugar specialties. Südzucker UK will operate in tandem with James Fleming & Co Ltd, sharing a core team of existing staff from offices based in Livingston, Scotland.
Flemings, a long-established specialist food manufacturer for the baking and confectionary industries, is credited with establishing and growing the Südzucker product range to customers in the UK and Ireland in addition to their successful range of jams, jellies, caramels and mincemeats. Flemings will continue to supply its clients in these specialist food products, as it has done for over 100 years.
